Twitter Results on Google and Bing

Most know that Twitter results are now being displayed on Google and Bing. But how quickly do potential results appear? I did a quick test on both Google and Bing. See screen shots below for “watch olympics live online”

As you’ll see in the first screen shot, Google shows two results on my initial search.

On my second query, I first posted my search phrase in a tweet. The results are amazing. Google displayed my tweet in about 60 seconds (that’s fast!!)
Notice the Twitter post highlighted by yellow. Google shows the time in which the tweet was posted. Google also displays Twitter results in its SERPs / organic listings. Also, notice in my second search, Google displays Twitter results in an active news scroller. Google certainly does a better job at displaying Twitter search results than Bing. (see Bing results in last image)

Bing Twitter results: While Bing did display my test tweet I’m not sure if Bind displayed it as quickly as Google. I’ll need to run another test or two.
One of the things I don’t care for in Bing Twitter results is that you need to know enough  to go to http://www.bing.com/twitter/ – The method that would seem to make the most for searchers is to just display Twitter results directly in SERPs as Google does. It also appears that Google results from Twitter are a bit more relevant than  (I’d like to hear your thoughts on this. Do you care if results show up in SERPs or on a dedicated page?)

Justine Ezarik – iJustine | Who is She?

This is probably my first article about a specific person I like to follow on the web and probably won’t be my last. If you have not heard or seen Justine Ezarik aka iJustine on the Internet you’ve need to get out from under your rock or stop playing farmville.

Justine is an internet phenomenon with over 1 million followers on Twitter and a world wide audience and over 25 million video views. Justine Ezarik is known as a lifecaster and has produced over 200 videos with a comic style all her own.

From a marketing perspective (going to be repetitive  here) it shows you the power of online video, viral video marketing, and social media and what can happen when you have a creative streak. Justine is not just a pretty blond with a Youtube channel; She’s an accomplished graphic designer, web developer, and video editor. Here favorite food is ketchup. (Maybe that’s where she gets all her creativity)

So whether you’re  just starting out with video or your own Youtube channel or you’ve got some brainy idea you need to try; I’m sure iJustine will give you some ideas and much needed comic relief.

Here are some links for Justine Ezarik and a few videos if you need some inspiration:

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a micro blogging phenomenon and social network that allows users to tweet their followers with brief messages of just 140 characters or less. I consider it in a sense an instant messaging platform on steroids. While Twitter has numerous applications for many businesses and enterprises I’ve yet to honestly see it generate results for two of my accounts or niches. One account has been active since August 2008 and the other January 2009. What have I gotten primarily from these two twitter accounts? Twitter SPAM.

With that being said, There are Twitter users that have seen a huge impact from using Twitter. Doctors, dentists, teachers, trainers, and the list goes on. But does that mean Twitter is right for every business? Some Internet marketers are starting to question the validity of Twitter as a primary business tool. Why? It takes time commitment and persistence just like anything else. When you start to analyze the time and commitment it takes to use Twitter successfully, there may be other marketing tools that will give specific businesses a better ROI.

So, What is Twitter? A powerful communication tool that can help you gain new customers or prospects. A customer service tool, or whatever you can conjur with your imagination with respect to communicating instantly with those in Twitter land.

Since I’m an Internet marketer, I’ve got a Twitter account for nearly all of the niche markets I’m working or developing. I’ll continue to share results good or bad as they develop. Here’s some good news. I got my son started with a new niche just 4 days ago, and with just a couple of tweets got two companies that stepped up to offer us all the help we needed along with products, video, etc. The right niche can generate some immediate responseses that can be lucrative.
